When I was a child, there was so much excitement associated with Christmas. As I reached my adult years and we start losing loved ones, we start seeing more empty chairs around the dinner table. In some families, the empty seats are replaced by new youth, a new generation. The older I get, the more I realize how much I miss those that I’ve lost. I try not to be saddened by the situation. I find myself reflecting on holidays past and remembering the good times. Life is just going by so fast that it makes me realize my own mortality. I don’t get caught up in the commercialism of Christmas. At the end of the day it’s not what matters. I try to honor my living relatives and family and take time to honor and reflect on those who have passed. I hope that I can make time for everyone this year and I hope you can too. Have a great holiday season.
